SUBCONSCIOUS SYMBOLS
Close up of work by Hilma af Klint
This week in the Void Signal, we are listening for symbols.
When the surface mind quiets, the subconscious doesn’t fall silent - it changes language. It rarely speaks in clear sentences or explanations. Instead, it communicates through images, sensations, patterns, repetition and atmosphere.
You may notice something returning again and again lately. A colour. A place. An object. An animal. A shape. These appearances are not random and they are also not asking to be solved with cognition and intellectual understanding. They’re invitations to notice and to connect relationally with the VOID.
For now, resist any urge to interpret or make meaning of your symbol. Let the symbol remain alive. Let it be felt rather than understood. Witnessing it is enough.
This week’s VOID PROMPT is short and sweet:
Write down one symbol you have been encountering in dreams, thoughts, creative work or seemingly random moments. Beside it, write one word for how it feels in your body.
We will be exploring this theme further in this week’s creative communion.
